The first step is a conversation. I love meeting with buyers in person before we start touring homes so we can talk through your goals, budget, and timeline. We’ll discuss what you’re hoping to find, what I’m currently seeing in the West Michigan market, and create a plan together.

These meetings are especially helpful for first-time home-buyers, who are one of my favorite groups to work with, because they give them a chance to ask questions and fully understand the process before we begin looking at homes.

We’ll talk through your goals, timeline, budget, and any questions you may have so you can move forward feeling informed and confident.

I especially enjoy working with first-time buyers and walking through the steps together. My goal is to make the process feel approachable and clear, so you always know what to expect.

While it’s not always required, getting pre-approved is highly recommended. A pre-approval helps you understand your purchasing power, strengthens your offer, and allows you to move quickly when the right home comes along.

Many buyers are surprised to learn they don’t always need a large down payment to get started. Depending on the loan program, some buyers qualify for options with as little as 3–5% down, and there may also be assistance programs available.

During our initial conversation, we’ll talk through your goals, and I can connect you with lenders who can help you understand what’s possible given your financial situation.

Timelines can vary depending on the market, financing, and your specific situation. On average, the process takes 30–60 days from offer acceptance to closing, but we guide you through each stage so you always know what to expect.

In addition to your down payment, buyers typically pay for inspections, appraisals, and closing costs. I will explain these expenses upfront so there are no surprises and help you plan confidently.

A buyer’s agent represents your best interests from start to finish. I help you evaluate homes, understand market value, negotiate pricing and terms, and navigate inspections so you can make confident decisions.

Behind the scenes, I also work closely with a trusted team of professionals—including lenders, title companies, inspectors, and vendors—to help ensure every step of the process runs smoothly.

Once your offer is accepted, several steps take place before closing, including inspections, appraisal, and finalizing financing.

I coordinate closely with your lender, inspector, and title company to keep everything moving forward and keep you informed along the way, so there are no surprises as we move toward closing day.
